Hora do jantar! Optei pela seleção “Well Being in the Air” (pratos recomendados pela revista High Life da companhia) acompanhado de um excelente vinho branco . Realmente o jantar estava espetacular.

Optei por conferir o sistema Audio and Video on Demand (AVOD). Senti falta do Wi-Fi a bordo.

British Airways Club World - Aviation-News.net (89)

British Airways Club World - Aviation-News.net (66)

Apreciei o voo na Club World.

British Airways Club World: Rio de Janeiro – London in the Boeing 777-336ER

British Airways Club World - Aviation-News.net (78)

The boarding was quickly and organized, I used the Fast Track queue. Passengers of First Class or Club World, Gold, Silver and Bronze members of the Executive Club and members with Emerald, Sapphire or Ruby status in oneworld are eligible for this priority queue.

The aircraft which operated my flight was the Boeing 777-336ER (77W), registration G-STBA. The airplane has just 3,5 years and it is completely new, it is worthy to highlight that the aircraft started its operation in 2010 and it was the first Boeing 77W of British Airways.

Soon as I entered in the aircraft, the flight attendants were friendly and offered me to store my jacket in the closet. After less than five minutes that I was accommodated in my seat, they brought for me a glass of champagne.

British Airways Club World - Aviation-News.net (44)

I chosen the 11K seat of Club World (seat configuration: 14 suites in First Class / 1-2-1, 56 flat bed in Club World / 2-4-2, 44 seats in World Traveller Plus / 2-4-2 and 185 seats in World Traveller / 3-3-3).

The main features of the seat are: big legroom, comfy chair that converts into a 183 cm (6 ft) fully flat bed, great entertainment system (wide variety of documentaries, films and series), headphone with noise-cancelling technology, intuitive seat and remote control, large table to work, personal drawer, power outlet, touch-screen monitor with 10,7 inches, USB outlet, and your own space to stretch out in privacy. Also the seat offers a great view of the engine, landscape, and wing.

The airplane took off at 11:53 PM BRST, after five minutes the flight attendants started the board service. During the board service, they offered a mix of nuts and to drink there were alcoholic beverages, juices, sodas, and water.

Dinnertime! To be honest I was curious about the meals that British Airways serves on board, I heard from many people great comments about this. I opted to follow the “Well Being in the Air” selection (meals recommended by the High Life magazine of the airline) with a good white wine. The dinner was spectacular.

It is in the smallest details that we can confirm the excelence of the service.

In my opinion, chocolate is a thing that can not miss in a long-haul flight.

After the dinner, the cabin lights were turned off and it was time to prepare myself to sleep. The bathroom of the 77W is very good and remained clean during all flight. Counting with, disposable bag in case of discomfort, Elemis products, moistened handkerchief, and even a decorative flower.

As I lost my sleep a few hours later, I decided to open my window a little bit and for my surprise, the sun was rising.

British Airways Club World - Aviation-News.net (83)

Before the breakfast, I went to the Club Kitchen (a space where passengers of Club World can go to stretch your legs and help yourself to a little treat or snack during the flight). The minibar located in the left side of the galley counts with alcoholic beverages, a fridge with fruits and candy, all types of snacks and even magazines. During the time that I spent in the Club Kitchen I have been talking with a flight attendant, she was very friendly and attentive. I liked to talk with her.

It was time for breakfast, I chose to follow the “Well Being in the Air” selection again and I preferred a continental breakfast. The breakfast was very good too!

Scrambled eggs with bacon, grilled pork sausage, tomatoes and sautéed potatoes.

As my flight would take three and a half hours to land, it was time to entertain myself a little bit. I opted to check the Audio and Video on Demand (AVOD) system. The entertainment on board was complete with large quantity and variety of documentaries, movies, series, besides the game options, information about Immigration, location of the aircraft, flight, and even a chat room to talk with any passenger connected in the room during the flight. I missed the on board Wi-Fi connection.

It was time to land! However, I was flying to London, due to the large number of aircraft landing and taking off at Heathrow Airport it is normal to lose around 15 minutes circling over the city.

General Electric 90-115B1 – British Airways was the first airline that introduced the engine in its fleet (November 1995), the aircraft chosen was the Boeing 777. This engine has 3,25 meters of diameter and can generate 115,300 lbf (514 kN) of thrust in a takeoff.

British Airways Club World - Aviation-News.net (66)

We landed in London at 01:26 PM GMT, check out the video of the landing and the aircraft taxiing to the gate:

As I was travelling in Club World, quickly I disembarked and I received a voucher that I could use the Fast Track in the Immigration.

The voucher allows you to a priority queue for passengers holding non-European passports at the time of the Immigration (Passengers of First Class or Club World, Gold or Silver members of the Executive Club and members with Emerald or Sapphire status in oneworld are eligible for this priority queue).

In thirty minutes, I was ready to enjoy my quick layover of seventeen hours in London.

Amenity Kit:

When I travelled, British Airways was in the changing process of the Amenity Kit. The traditional Elemis handbag had been replaced by a bag with an illustration of London with the airline and Elemis logo. A versatile drawstring bag which the airline says can double “as a shoe or lingerie and underwear bag.”

The old amenity kit counts with: earplugs, Elemis products, moistened handkerchief, toothbrush, toothpaste, and socks.

The new amenity kit counts with: Elemis products, pen, shaver, socks, toothbrush, and toothpaste.

Final considerations:

I enjoyed to fly in Club World. The seat is comfortable, very spacious and the passenger has privacy.

The food and beverages were good, there was a plenty of snacks.

Regarding the cabin crew of Club World, they were very educated, friendly, and helpful, I liked them.

British Airways Boeing 777-300ER (77W) is amazing, the aircraft was new and I had no problems. Also this airplane is one of the Boeing’s flagships. In my opinion, after the 787 Dreamliner the 77W is the best aircraft of British Airways’ fleet.

Club World is good in relation with the Business Classes of some airlines.
